All About Intermittent Fasting

Where have I been? What have I been doing?!! Well... if you follow me on Instagram a lot of things have been going on, part of the reason why I haven't been with you guys lately, also, gotta be honest I have been dealing with a huge writer's block in the past couple of months.

So today I took the decision to just WRITE and connect with you all pretty ladies.

Among other things, this is a big thing I have been incorporating in my life - INTERMITTENT FASTING.

Now, before you think anything else, this is not a DIET, no no... look at it as a tool, as tool for your body to metabolize your food correctly and regenerate your body in a cellular level.

The scientific word is Autophagy is a natural regeneration process that occurs at a cellular level in the body, reducing the likelihood of contracting some diseases as well as prolonging lifespan.

Without getting any more geaky, how can you implement intermittent fasting in your life??!

Some experts explain it, as an 8 hour window where you can eat and the rest of the hours of the day only certain liquids.

In my opinion that sounds to harsh not very friendly, right?

I like to put it this way, eating 2-3 hours before going to bed and eating 2-3 hours after waking up in the morning. Making sure you are giving a 12-16 hour period of the intermittent fasting, basically is the same but put in a different perspective.

As little as 12 hours your body will feel the benefits!

Now, here is a little tip, you can have healthy fats, the only foods that will not spike your insulin levels, this will help you remain satisfied and be able to prolong the intermittent fasting without breaking it.

Here are two ways you can do it:

First and for most, make sure you are hydrating, this is key, warm lemon water does wonders to detoxify your body in the mornings.

Followed by, green tea or other herbal tea with a 1 tsp of MCT Oil (good quality version of coconut oil) or 1 tbs of coconut oil.


If you are a good metabolizer and don't get anxious with coffee, then a cup of coffee with 1 tsp of MCT Oil (this is good quality version of coconut oil) or 1 tbs of coconut oil.

Q. Do you have to be eating a certain diet?

A. Not really, you will still see the benefits (weight loss, longevity, less diseases) BUT! Your body still needs your vitamins and minerals, that means eating a wholesome healthy diet, based on healthy carbohydrates, healthy fats, and protein.

Q. How often should I do it?

A. This is something you can do every day, how many hours of the intermittent fasting will depend on your lifestyle. Make sure it adapts to your lifestyle not the other way around.

My suggestion would be, if you had a heavy dinner or not so healthy meal, then try to do a 16 hour intermittent fasting, if you have been eating pretty clean and early dinners then a 12 hour intermittent will do the job.

Q. Is intermittent fasting diet?

A. You know all I really dislike the world DIET, let's better think of it as a healthy lifestyle, and the intermittent fasting is a tool. A way to keep your body as heathy as possible.
