Superfood Golden Oats (Turmeric + Chia Seeds)


Hey guys! I know I left you there hanging for a while but mama needed a break!

I'm back recharged energized and happy to be back with you all :)

And being the New Year I know we all have the same resolution (so much goodie info is coming) to eat healthier!

Sooo... here is a super healthy and nourishing recipe... and if you don't know where to start on how to go back into healthy eating.

Start with breakfast make a bit of time in the morning to prep your breakie and you can start there. If you start with a healthy breakfast more thank likely a healthy lunch will follow.

TURMERIC CHIA OATS

INGREDIENTS

2 cups quick Gluten Freed Bob's Red Mill cook steel cut oats

4 cups non-dairy milk or water + extra 1/2-1 cup more to add to the mixture gets thick and pasty

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 tbsp organic coconut oil or MCT oil

Cinnamon

1 mashed banana (depending on level of sweetness you like)

2 tbsp chia seeds

2 tbsp hemp seeds

2 tsp Sari Foods turmeric powder

DIRECTIONS

1.Combine the steel cut quick cook oats with your choice of milk, cinnamon and vanilla extract in a medium pot and bring the mixture to a boil. Once it’s boiling, lower heat to a simmer and cook for about 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally so the mixture doesn’t cook on the bottom.

2.Once the oat mixture begins to look mushy and milk is soaked into the oats- you can add in the rest of the ingredients- coconut oil, turmeric powder, banana, chia seeds, hemp seeds and chia seeds.

3. If you find that it’s getting to thick, you can add in more milk or water.
